I’m back. Needless to say, I’ve been busy beyond belief and have not had time to play games, let alone write a battlereport. During the summer I filmed a short fight sequence with my friends which I planned to post on this site. However, due to bandwidth issues, I never did. This is intended as a preview though it is in battlereport format. If enough people want I will post the full movie but I don’t want to take that much time and effort unless a lot of people want to see it.

Without further ado:

A Day in the Life of ThePalisade III:

Starring:

“Dragonsven”

“Maximus216”

“HiMyNameisNeil” (as two characters)

It was a warm summer afternoon. Maximus was driving down the road in the boonies thinking about how much he wanted a smoothie. So involved was his reverie that he never noticed the gray Toyota tailing his red Cavalier.

Hidden in the shadows of some shrubbery on the side of the road, Sven watched the two cars pass. Just as the gray Toyota was nearly passed him, he leaped out and dove for the back of the car...and missed. Obviously an accomplice of Sven’s, the driver did not slow down.

Sven’s second attempt was more successful and the stalking continued with two instead of one.

A short time later, Maximus parked in an obscure location and headed into the woods. Sven, now alone, stealthily followed Maximus to his destination.

An innocent passerby, a man by the name of Weatherby, happened to hear Maximus tromping through the woods. Thinking quickly and illogically, Weatherby dashed off into the woods in search of the noise.

Thinking they were deep enough in the woods for him to make his move, Sven ran up behind Maximus, attempting to chop his head off. Maximus moved quickly and barely avoided the blade. Luckily a sword happened to be on the ground next to him so he swept that up into his hands and prepared to do battle.

Blades whirled in the air and neither swordsman was good enough to wound the other. So spectacular was the swordplay that birds stopped singing so that they could watch and 46 different chipmunks dropped simultaneously from the trees in wonder. However, Sven took advantage of a single slip of the sword by Maximus. Sweeping Maximus’ blade up and away, he cut him across the gut.

Maximus rolled through the cut and came up bleeding but alive. Sven, now with two swords, attacked Maximus even more viciously. Such was Maximus’ skill with the sword that he was able to contemplate how Sven got another sword and fight at the same time; while wounded. Maximus could not hold up long though and began to lag behind Sven in his swordplay. Sven pushed into him so that Maximus couldn’t use his sword and knocked him to the ground.

That’s when Weatherby shot out of the woods with his staff at the ready. Without any questions, he attacked Sven straight away. Sven was barely able to deflect the blows from Weatherby’s much longer staff. Swinging upward, Weatherby’s struck the sword from Sven’s left hand off into the woods. An entire colony of ants was destroyed as it fell back to earth.

Knowing he wouldn’t last long against the staff, Sven used the same tactic he had on Maximus. Throwing himself bodily into Weatherby, he dropped his sword and ripped the staff from Weatherby’s grasp. Weatherby fell heavily to the earth, the wind knocked out of him.

Maximus, by now recovered, immediately ran at Sven. Sven parried several blows but was distracted by Weatherby’s reentrance into the battle, carrying Sven’s own sword. Managing to defend himself against both men, Sven finally rolled out of the battle. In a surprising turn of events, Weatherby and Maximus engaged in combat with each other.

The battle was fierce but quick ending when Maximus had his feet swept out from under him by Weatherby. Attempting to end Maximus’ participation in this pointless contest, he stabbed downward. Maximus avoided the blow by kicking Weatherby in the face.

Sven chose this time to reenter the battle. Leaping over Maximus, he engaged Weatherby staff to sword. Weatherby leapt over Sven and in a series of amazing sword moves managed to recapture his staff. Sven, seeing it was possible that he might lose this contest, Force-pushed Weatherby to the ground and then Force-grabbed his swords.

The other two combatants both through themselves at Sven and a melee ensued. It was broken up with no one wounded. Maximus stepped off to the side while Sven and Weatherby began to fight in earnest. It ended quickly with Sven severing Weatherby’s spinal cord. Arrogantly, Sven through away his left hand sword and awaited Maximus’ charge. With a silent bellow, Maximus charged Sven.

As Maximus swept passed Sven, neither combatant seemed injured. This illusion was quickly proved false when Maximus toppled to the ground. Sauntering over, Sven through his glasses onto Maximus’ chest and took Maximus’ sunglasses for his own. Thumbs up style.
