We have a rematch, and I know Q likes Snowbound,
so I pick that map to play. He must be omniscient
because his OL immediately finds me, and turns
tail. (trying to be sneaky, eh? I saw you, you
bloated bastard!)

I am a very, very, very happy sanctimonious self-serving
'toss right now.

Why?

Because corsairs own zerg on islands.

With that firmly in mind, I build a pylon at 8,
assimilator at 9, and get gas sooner than you can
say "Grande Meal."

The gateway goes up, followed closely by a cybercore
and then 2 stargates, to which 2 corsairs come a'warping.
I made 2 dragoons, for token defense. I'm expecting
a drop of course, but if I have anything to say
about it, my island is going to be a ZergFreeZone.

I quickly have 6 corsairs, and place them around
his island. I see one of his overlords moving,
slowly. This is a very good sign. A robo facility
has warped in, and I take 8 probes in a shuttle to
the 12:00, and start an expansion. (I'd overproduced
probes purposely at my main so I could get an
expansion up and running right away)

Right around the time I take off with the shuttle,
3 overlords come flying out of his base, see my
corsairs, and turn around. Shortly after, I see
those same 3 overlords sneak around to the far right,
almost out of my sight. But I saw them, the sneaky
slimy things, and group up my corsairs (and 2 scouts
that I had produced as well), and head straight north
toward the center. He's not headed to 3:00 to
expand, I know that. Sure enough, the overlords
come from 3:00 toward my main, and I waste 2 of them,
and the 3rd barely makes it to my main and drops off
2 hydras before dying as well. My goon nearby and
2 scouts finish off the hydras.

Meanwhile my expansion is up and running, I have
a fleet beacon, and am researching scout speed.
I'm really raking in the resources now, and 4
stargates are pumping out a variety of scouts,
corsairs, and even some carriers for when I decide
to bust his main.

He can't breathe without me knowing it. Well,
he coughed. 4 overlords head toward 3:00, which
I promptly destroy. This however was a great
diversion for his REAL force, which was about
10 overlords headed for my main. Oops. I
managed to kill half of them before they unloaded
their cargo of hydralisks and zerglings, which
proceeded to rampage through my underdefended
base. I did make my mark though, and did a very
important thing - I scrubbed all his overlords.

Those forces weren't getting off my main at all.

He had broken the containment in a way, but at
an extremely high price, so it was a success for
me. I had a fully operational expansion, and I had
2 stargates and a cybercore upgrading my air weapons
there + my fleet beacon. I had just about mined
my main out anyways.

To make a long story short, he conceeded after his
drop on my main ,because basically I had killed
all his overlords, he had almost depleted his
main, and he had no way of expanding. After I had
foiled his first drop attempt, I was just too far
ahead. I could expand all over the map at will, and
he was forced to spend all his resources just trying
to break out.

Heartcutter wrote it best: Contain. Expand. Destroy.

Make their price to break out of containment so
high that it assures you victory. It even works
once in a while for me!
