Pre-game:
It was 3:00 am Paris time and I thought I'd try some tough 1v1 challenge. I found mark4 in the chatroom, and challenged him; he accepted. Rivalry was agreed upon, and 2 players asked to watch.

Early-game:
I went for a 9 pool, then 12 hatch, then 13 sunken,then gas, then drones 12-16 , then zerglings, then 3rd hatch, then hydra den. I was hoping to get fast lings followed quickly by lurkers to contain mark4.
I scouted mark4's base early on with an overlord and deducted he had a choke defense, since i saw two gates and a cyber core surrounding the peons, but no troops.
Right after my first sunken was up, a zealot came in, but died without dealing damage. When i got to the construction of my hydra den, i decided to scout with a ling, but then found out that my entrance had been blocked by a row of canons, 4 zealots and an archon. I smelt the scent of containment and anti-zerg units like high templars ..ouch! I started to panic and sent in my 18 lings which were resting by my sunken towards the canons, without success. At this point of the game, I got a very friendly message from johnny_vegas saying i was a rotten dead dog eater...
I opted for drops; quickly I developped the Overlord speed and transport upgrades, loaded 6 overlords with 4 lurkers, 4 hydras and 18 lings, and dropped mark4 at the back of his main. He had only a goon waiting for me there, which gave me time to organise my troops and separate them , since i didnt want them to all die with 1 storm. My drop was rather successful, since i took down most of the peons, the nexus, a couple of pylons and 1 or 2 key buildings like the templar archives or the forge.
Because of this assault, mark4 had had to withdraw his troops guarding the canon line outside my base to defend his village. I thus sent in a dozen lings which took down the row of canons embracing me.
As I had expected, mark4 had expanded to the top right base while he could still contain me with his canons. Freed from this obstacle, I expanded twice, to the expansion between me and him, and the expansion between me and the top left position. In the meanwhile, he grabbed the expansion between his main town and the top right base. We had so far equal mineral and gas pumping, although he still conserved a slight advantage from expanding before me.
With this little mineral advantage, he build 12 zealots, 9 goons, 2 archons, a couple of reavers and high templars and carefully started to harrass my bottom middle expansion (the one bewteen our 2 mains).Fortunately, I had 4 lurkers, 24 lings and 8 hydras waiting for him, and I had also erected 3 sunkens. He rushed in, but i managed to kill all his incoming troops, however not without suffering severe losses among my army. No peons were killed, and the hatch was maintained.
I expanded again, to the top left base, and mark4 seized the natural of the top right base. There was a moment of calm, prosperity, where I decided to power, getting more and more lings, erecting 2 evolution chambers to evolve full cracklings upgrades, evolving my lair into a hive, and getting a couple of queens as well as defiler. Mark4 was also very strong, and he had impressively conquered the opposite side of the map, placing high templars at every expansion he had, behind a row of canons.
He again tried to destroy the base i had between our 2 mains, but failed a 2nd time, his goons falling under ling and lurker fire. A couple of his high templars had also been parasited or broodlinged. I then realised my bank was full of money (about 1000 minerals and 2000gas), which allowed me to get a few more lurkers (these beasties really slow down attacks hehe), and i pumped more fully upgraded cracklings. Mark4 too had upgraded on his ground troops.
I realised he had just taken the middle top expansion, taking the lead now in the expansion race; he was up by 1 expansion. I had to make him pay for this, and I sent 36 lings accompanied by 12 hydras,3 lurkers, and a defiler casting dark swarm before the canons, and got rid of his nexus, the gate he had built there, and all the peons as well as the few high templars which had killed many of my 36 lings by casting storms. At this point, I thought, wow, vegas would be happy to see me using spells like swarm and broodling, instead of macroing like a whore :) (he is always pissed at me like i cant micro, etc...)
To take a revenge, Mark4 sent many of his troops accompanied by sairs to destroy the bottom middle expansion.
Full of rage, I sent swarms of lings, hydras and defilers to destroy mark4's top right expansion, as well as the natural of this base. Mark4 started then to assault my natural, which soon fell under goon and reaver fire.
We were both getting exhausted now concerning our economy, but each of us still had plenty of troops, and we were racing to destroy the each other's bases faster.
Let's stop for a second and summarise what we each had left at this point:
UpgradedKakaru (me):
Bases:My main, the middle left base(exhausted),and the top left base (still quite a lot ofd cash there).
Army: Many many lings (about 50 left), 12-24 hydras, 5 defilers, 4 queens.
Mark4:
Bases: His main , the middle right expansion (still few minerals there)
Army: 24 goons, some zealots, archons, and 4-6 reavers
and about 8 sairs
Mark4 then assaulted my main, and destroyed it, but I had had time to rebuild all of the key buildings in the top left base. While he destroyed my main, I destroyed his middle right expansion with lings and dark swarm again. He then dropped reavers at my top left base, and i couldnt do anything to save my buildings there, since all of my troops were fighting.
At this point, mark4 only had his main left (exhausted) , and i only had the midle left base (exhausted) and the top left base (still full of money), but under attack by reavers. I charged mark4's main, but lost most of my troops to dark templars at the choke (ouch i hadnt brought OLs this time).I was out of money and out of troops, whereas mark4 was out of money, but still had 12 goons , 4 reavers and a couple of dark templars.
I conceded the game.
