In the midst of Kerrigan's rule, Mengsk's return, and Duran's Mission an incredible planet, distraught with ancient relics, and incredible amounts of recources was found. Four Terran ,under disorganized ragtag clans had take base, each, on their own grounds. Upon this ground they set foot a battle that would never be forgotten by anyone that stepped foot on Homeworld, for the ancient battle scars still remain, and some of the very buildings still stand. Among the Terran adversaries stood 2 proud and mighty Protoss war hero's, and their fleets. The story begins with MasterOfMordor...

---The vital statistics are at the bottom, but you really don't have to read them, though you may want to look at the map HOMEWORLD in your campaign editor, as it would really help visualize the situation, and I encourage any of the participants to write their views on the game, because this is just my view, I knew very little of what happened with the southern half of the map, so this was like 2 games in one--

Hearing news of an awesome land, by one of my fellow commanders, Annie47, I joined her to enslave the land under our name. As we landed greed struck her, and she depleted any trust of mine, by unallying with me. Knowing nothing of the surrounding grounds, I was alone. I was soon to find my enemies, though, as a scouting probe rushed through my castle doors, from the north. I hadn't dealt with the Protoss very much, and wanted to stay away from them, until I had proper counters. The probe was destroyed by my marines before it could see my obvious tech. I remember the moment clearly, I had a small fleet of SCVs quickly taking off the abundant minerals, and supporting my troops 3 fresh supply depots. A single barracks was training marines as fast as it could, and a refinery was already set atop a massive Vespene Geyser. A scouting marine, that had wandered clear down to the south-eastern continent, sent news of a protoss colony. He saw a Forge, and a Zealot, but that was it. Though one of my only encounters with the southern protoss, it was not a dangerous one, and the marine continued east. I had built my Factory by now, and began a Starport, when a Red marine came to my door. I checked the color markings of those in the vicinity, and lo and behold, Annie47 wished to speak with me. She commented after the marine's death:

"MoM! How could you kill him? He was sent to give you a message! I wanted to ally with you!" and with that she sent a satellite image of her base and missions, effectively sharing her vision.

Suspiciously I inquired,"I may forgive your mistrust in me, but am I your only ally?"

"I have also allied with someone else"

"I am sorry, but it's me or nothing" and communication was cut, including my vision of her base.

I began work on my growing collection of supply depots, and also laid an Academy to support further the cause of my marines. I used ComSat to get me familiar with the land to the north, and behold, I hit dead on. The protoss that had earlier scouted me, under the power of Executor OddJob0047, had expanded. Not for long, I commented under my breath, and ordered 2 marines, a medic, an SCV, and a Tank into the best (and only) dropship I had. They flew the short distance to the executor's expansion site and quickly seiged up. Two supporting Zealots ran up the ramp but were cut short by my marines, though one marine casualty was suffered. The SCV began a bunker, and the dropship returned to base to refuel the attack. While another SCV, 2 marines, Medic and Tank were loaded into it the tank took down a cannon and it's accompanying pylon. With the support my attack was going to take him out, and I could take the expansion in his place. As I asked for still more tanks and another dropship (and M&Ms) a small squadron of Red wraiths flew overhead my attack, and opened fire. I hadn't the troops, nor the counter to this fleet, and when I saw the wraiths fly over OddJob's cannons, I knew she was allied with him.

--There is an accompanying sub article in here that reviews all that Commander MoM knows. He updated his log after the battle. It reads as follows:

At the time I had little knowledge, let alone any skirmishes, with the south continents (Orange Protoss and Johnny Vegas)I had also met Fizban who lay just south to me, dangerously close. Protoss Executor OddJob had secured the north of me, and traitor Annie47 far west. I had made medium skirmishes with OddJob, and small skirmishes with Annie. I was idle with the rest.

--Sub article end.

In fear of the wraiths I made a private call to Commander Fizban while ordering supplies for an Engineering bay, in hopes of turrets. I also had a few of my own wraiths in the air, equipped with cloaking devices to boot. The transmission with Commander Fizban went like this:

"To Fizban: Annie has wraiths. We need to ally, atleast until we can get rid of her wraiths"

Fizban replied,"I'm allied with OddJob, I know"

"Ally?" I pleaded.

"Okay, we need to get rid of her wraiths"he confirmed , thankfully.

We both engaged satellite maps of our bases. A little shaky on my trust of him, I kept most of my units away from his base, should he unally and get the advantage.

I surveyed his position. He was a lucky man, for he had claimed 2 geyser expansions (atop cliffs, making them hard to take down) and defended them with turrets tanks, and marines. I certainly wouldn't be able to take him down, and I was glad to have him my ally, even if it would be only temporary.

My next step was to get an army. My standing units were: 10 marines, 3 medics, 4 Wraiths, 4 tanks (one on my castle wall) and many marines. I queued up 2 more tanks and 4 more Wraiths along with Marines and SCVs. The supply need took my out of my base, and I needed to expand my defenses. Suddenly I noticed 8 of Annie's wraiths hover over one of Fizban's expansions. I noticed that her wraiths had been equipped with new, top of the line weapons. I forgot about upgrades! An armory went up as I transferred this message to Fizban:

"Annie has Wraiths at your base. I'm coming down with my own wraiths, unally with her just as I arrive. Oh, and put some marines under her wraiths."

My 8 wraiths were sent to her standing fleet, and right before they arrived Fizban opened fire as did I. She lost a few, but when realizing what happened ran for it. I chased her 4 remaining wraiths down, and managed to weaken them down to sub 30 HP, and kill one. Suddenly I realized that Fizban's alliance wouldn't last, and I needed to hit HIM before he hit me. I loaded 2 dropships with 2 tanks, 5 marines, and 3 medics. I sent the fleet, along with my 8 wraiths, to his top expansion, and unloaded at his defense and opened fire. I had destroyed his defense and began into his base. SCVs exploded under pressure, and fire, and the base was torn apart.

Then suddenly, from the lower edge of the cliff emerged a fleet of Marines, accompanied by ghosts who promptly shot off their Lockdown missiles, effectively stopping my tanks. My wraiths fled the area, losing none, though they were hurt from the small skirmish with Annie, and the marines did hit them. I realized that my mineral node was dwindling and I needed an expansion fast. I resurrected a Command Center on a small island near my castle. It was fairly small, and the resources were nothing big, yet better than nothing. The odd thing was the set up of the island. If had a high center, so that a seige tank could easily fire down into the valley and smash the expansion, and there were 5 sections of minerals on the island, each that could fall under the fire of tanks.

I scouted, further, the land of the island to see that a budding expansion was being setup by my new enemy Fizban. Taking two tanks I seiged the ledge and made him retreat with his command center. I then took the expansion for myself. I realized that I had 3 bases, with only 1 depleted geyser. I had an abundance of Minerals but my Gas was incredibly low. The effects of low gas are very vast, your denied high end units like tanks, flying units, and upgrades, ALL essential when fighting in a long battle. Seeing the need to spend my money I erected 4 Barracks out side my cramped Castle, in hopes of getting Fizban to hope that I was going wraiths, then convert to infantry.

Suddenly Annie sent out universal distress calls:

"Ahh! I'm dead"

"I'm gone!"

She then shared her base figure, and told me that she was alone, and needed help.

Feeling pity I forgave her mistrust in me, and we became a team, like the good old days. Inspecting her base I was amazed. She had forgotten battle, and went to nukes, attempting to surgically take out sections of enemy bases. She also had a small wraith squadron of 8 wraiths, with FULL upgrades. Another good alliance, on my part. I expressed my need of gas with this transmission:

"I NEED GASSSSS!"

"NOW!"

--Another sub article begins here:

At this time I was aware of all presence's, good and bad. Executor OddJob, the Orange Protoss, whom had many dragoons had taken atleast 1 expansion to the north. I had little knowledge of the FAR north-western edge, and I'm sure that he had power over that. Annie, my ally, had one expansion, and two nuke silos ready to turn a base over. We had small skirmishes before, but now we're ally's. Commander Fizban_ I depleted his trust in me, by unallying to take out one of his expansions, though it failed. I had constantly harassed his northern cliff, for It was the closest Vespene Geyser. Commander Johnny_Vegas I had heard nothing of. My only experience with him was my first scouting marine, that was murdered at his door. Other then that I knew nothing of him. The Protoss executor Snow Squall, whom I merely glimpsed at in the beginning was even MORE enigmatic than Johnny, for I hadn't even seen his base! My current plans were to do an attack upon Fizban's expansion for the 4th time. Though, this time with support.

--End of sub article

Annie moved her cloaked ghost up Fizban's ramp.

"Nuclear Launch Detected"

Only this time, I wasn't scared. I waited patiently, hoping Fizban wouldn't find the dot, and then Annie's ghost. The seconds seemed like hours. The time ticked until the ghost lifted his head, thumbs up. It was going to hit! I rallied a fleet of marines, and as soon as the nuke demolished his ramp defense I busted on through. SCVs became casualties as I slaughtered them all. When I realized that he would be able to defend this attack, I centered in on his command center, HOPING that I could set him back enough. The marines continued pounding on the Center, brave as can be, even as enemy tanks fired upon them. Again a waiting game, could the marines take it out? More damage, more flames, engulfing it. Could they hold out? With a loud explosion the Center went up in flames, and everyone began cheering. Though, the marines didn't make it out alive, they will always be remembered.

My expansion had suffered damage, amidst the chaos of the nuke, Fizban snuck a fleet of wraiths into my expansion and worked their havoc. For some unknown reason, though, they left, leaving the Command Center still standing. I quickly supported it, as my other expansion had been mined out. Soon a good amount of SCVs were mining from the expansion, and turrets were protecting them from the skys.

Annie and I kept doing our stuff, annie nuking, me rushing in with infantry. But I was completely disabled by my lack of gas. Fizban's units totally out upgraded me, and it was hard to contend. I sought yet another mineral only expansion on the island, and when it came on line, I ferried several more SCVs to mine it's precious minerals.

Suddenly Annie cried out: "MoM! OddJob is attacking my exp. Help!"

I, at that exact moment, was in the middle of a battle with Fizban, who had been one of my greatest enemies during the fight, and had no troops to send her. Though my attack failed, it was cost effective, killing 5+ goliath, several ghosts, and marines.

Odd job shoved many dragoons down her expansion, and as a last ditch attempt she defensively nuked her ramp, where many dragoons were stuck. Oddjob, who instinctively checked his base for the nuke, didn't think it would be on his attack. Many dragoons fell, though not enough. The attack continued 'till she was expansionless. Our alliance was looking weak. I desperately needed gas, so I sent an SCV into OddJob's territory, to naked expand. The expansion took long to come about, and I commenced several battles with Fizban, and his cliff before it finally arrived.

Suddenly, before I could even build an SCV at the expansion, a duo of Dragoons pounded on the command center. Not wanting to lose the money, but more importantly, the time of the command center, I lifted it off and ran with it. It managed to escape over a small river, but the damage sustained was enough to set off a small internal fire inside. If I didn't repair that fire, the entire Command Center would fall! I landed it, and began an SCV when suddenly an amazing global transmission was received from the ever elusive Commander Johnny Vegas:

"HELP! Get the carrier off me! Welcoming ANY alliances!" he sent, along with visuals of his base.

Just as he said, many carrier beat upon his base, with the protection of Arbiters, Commander Vegas couldn't compete. I sensed that this might bring all of the powers together, to stop the powerful force, and if it did, I could make a fast, powerful strike on Fizban's Cliff FINALLY taking it. But it was not to be so...

My head leader reported to me, that the battle had been to costly, that I had taken enough minerals from the planet to help them secure another area. So the 3000 minerals that I had stored in the bank were taken with me to my next battle... All troops evacuated, and all buildings were abandoned. I felt very empty, not ever getting that cliff, I ever so wanted.

This was an awesome game. For those of you who don't know what a free melee is: A free melee is where you ally and unally with/when it helps your chances of winning. So basically backstabbing is good, and okay. :D Again, I encourage all the participants to write their view's on the game, because each persons experience varied, and there was alot of behind the scene's things that alot of us missed. Notes: I disconnected at the end, so I know less then probably everyone, and untill they give their part of the story you wont know who won (have I convinced everyone to tell their side of the story yet? :D) Also try to play a free-melee on UMS (it's very unpredictable, and unfair, so wins and losses shouldn't be counted) with atleast 5 players, to add variety to it.

GG guys!
