Hello. My name is Harold.
Fan Fiction: Harold the Hydralisk
Um. It's me again. Yep, Harold would be my name.
The pale blue sun rose, casting its delicate rays over the open field below. The light creeped forward, teasingly slow. He hunched over, motionless, behind the cover of a dying tree. His eyes narrowed as the beam of light revealed a Terran encampment.

A disembodied voice spoke to him, its voice reverbating in his head. "Good work, my children. Now show these humans the fury of the Swarm."

He heard the clattering of hundreds of claws as zerglings and hydralisks raced down into the valley. Bloodlust filled his soul. They tore into the camp, sinking their claws and fangs into sweet warm flesh, spitting their spines into buildings and shrieking civilians. He smiled, blood dripping from his jutting jaw. Tasty. He raised his scythe like arms in victory and hissed at the top of his lungs. Victory was theirs!

Harold woke with a start, a viscous liquid oozing from his open jaws onto the dark wooly blanket. His stomach churned as he hesitantly wiped a clawed arm across his mouth. To his relief, the liquid was clear, not dark red. His heart still pounded and he paused to catch his breath. "Gotta stop drooling on myself," Harold scolded himself, "Mom's going to be mad if she's gotta wash my sheets again!"

"Harold, are you alright?"

"Shit," he muttered, frantically folding his blanket such that the wet region wasn't visible. It wasn't going so well, considering the fact that his arms ended in sharp points and he lacked that ever so useful opposable thumb.

"Harold...! Have you been drooling on yourself in your sleep again? Honestly! Jimmy doesn't have these accidents and he's 2 months younger than you! What am I ever going to do with you?"

"But mom! I had a bad dream. I'm sorry." Ashamed, he lowered his head and doodled in the dirt with a claw. His mom glanced at him as she slung the blanket over an arm. She sighed.

"I'm sorry honey. But you really need to learn to control yourself. You're too old to be slobbering all over your sheets like a new-spawn. So what kind of dream was it?"

Harold shook emphatically. "It was terrible mom! This whole village was like crazed lunatics and there was this voice and it was all deep and stuff and it was like speaking directly to me I mean I didn't really hear it with my ears but I heard it in my head, and I think everyone else heard it because they were doing the same thing and there was these humans in this camp and we went down there and killed them all and we were eating them and blood was flying everywhere! And we all liked it. Alot."

He paused to catch his breath.

"It was so nasty!"

His mom grimaced in distaste. "We were ripping things apart and eating the meat RAW? That's disgusting."

"Yeah. And when I woke up I thought there was blood in my mouth."

His mother gently stroked his head with her free claw. "It's all right, honey. It's all right. Come on, it's time for breakfast."

Harold flinched slightly with trepidation. "It's not live screaming humans is it?"

His mom chuckled and an evil gleam appeared in her eyes. "Kekekekeke... Close. This morning we feast on human brains still steaming in their skulls!" she hissed in glee.

Harold's eyes widened and a whimper inadvertantly escaped his throat. His mom burst out laughing. "No, no no. It's what we always eat for breakfast. I fried you some creep. With a little sugar, just the way you like it. Oh come on, Harold. Stop being such a whuss. I was just joking. Go eat your breakfast. I'll go wash this." She gestured to the stained sheet on her arm.

He reluctantly slithered into the dining den. "If it's humans, I'm going to puke," he warned.

* * * End part one * * * *

Ok, so I don't know if there's actually going to be any more parts even though this is really really short. (-: It was just a little light hearted tale for you folk to read if you're bored (cuz I was). I hope you enjoy it. I was going to make it a lot longer but whatever. There's been so many fan fics out that I decided to write one with a much lighter tone to it. Sorry it's not a br.

By the way, you can also check out my first fan fic here.
