Lifetime Rating for Flint79: 6.3714 |  | Pre-Game: After I got back from watching "The Mummy" at the old movie theatre....I was up for little bit of the old StarCraft. I created a game on Challenger and waited for my opponent. He was Spanish...and with his Reply of "Ci" to my ,"Ready?" we were off.
Him:Toss (Bottom)
Me:Terran (Top)
Early game: I went with an 8 depot, 9 rax, 10 rax build and stared pumping SCV's and Marines like mad. I did some early scouting to discover he was already collecting gas. I braced for DT by getting detection early. I did'nt bother defending my mineral line at the time...as my comstats informed me that not one robo fac was in site! Well, he attacked with few zeals that I finished off quite easly. then he attacked again with Zeals...with the same horrible results. I was thinking about JSH's BR about the Zeal only guy he played and chuckled to myself a bit. Then the DT came. He went right for my detection fist and cleared it. I killed all but one of them that was now killing my comstat. Needless to say I was pissed. Before I let my SCV's die...I pulled them all back to my choke and made 2 turrets. Don't need anymore of those bastards in here :). The DT was now working on my CC....I did'nt bother lifting it as it would take him quite a while to destroy it....let the baby have it's bottle. I made a few Turrets just outside of the DT's sight and prepared my attack.
I sent in 2 tanks, 2 Vultures and a handfull of marines into the DT. He was probabily saying, "What a newb....more easy kills!!" [Spanish Translation]. the Old DT comes at my guys and is picked up on radar. They tore into him like a fat kid into a bag of chips...and the DT was destroyed. The scv's began working again and started making more....I noticed that my other CC was complete...and I flew it to the Island expansion :) .
Mid-game: Well..he still has'nt expanded...so I'm one up on him. I notice some Cannons warping in just outside of my choke. I think, "Hmmm....a little late for that don't cha think my Spanish friend!!!!! Muhahahaha" Two Tanks come out a take out a few of the cannons. By this time...my expansion is goin well, I have a SV for detection and irradicate. Low and behold....more DT rally to the cause. The two tanks were destroyed...but I killed 5 DT. I did'nt give a Rat's ass about the Tanka...As I had minerals...and soon his would be running out :) Those DT losses must have hurt em. I began production of two more tanks. Well...I comstated again to discover a fatal flaw on his part....no Observatory!!!! I began Nuke production at my island. I also left his sorry offensive cannons infront of my base...I did'nt care. For a Guy without an expansion...I would invite him to make more and waste his money! Then a reaver came a knockin....I forgot to put my tanks by the front lines...GRRRRRR! He took out a bunker and 4 marines before it was silenced by tank fire. I was getting pissed off with guy...and with myself for not playing so well. I had made 6 Wraiths for Expansion hunting...and just after the Reaver attack....I hear, "Nuclear missle ready!"
Late-Game (The Nuclear Era)
I was so pissed at this guy at this point and when my Ghost came out, I could have sworn he said something different....sounded like, "Get ready to feel pain you SOB!"
I comstated again....still no Observatory and my Wraiths found no expansions....he must have really thought he was owning me! The drop ship drops of my little Ghosty on the right part of his main. Aim that badboy at the Nexus...and BOOM! All the probes die. I was enjoying this so much...I made another CC and had another Nuke in the Oven. As I nuked...I saw him warp in a Stargate. Now whay would you do that when you have no expansions and his minerals were almost gone? Needless to say it was idle for the whole game. Even if he had some air...my Wraiths would kick ass....as he had no OBSERVERS!!!! I sent in my Wraiths to harrass a bit in between nukes. They took out two Plyons that were warping in [he did'nt cancel them]....I did'nt care about what damage they did...I just wanted to repay the favor of cloaked attacks :P . Finally...some really off target PSI storms were thrown at me...and I left....just cuz my two nukes were ready! Well...after I came in the right side...he put cannons there. I was kinda happy about taking out those two pylons now...as they were to be used to power the cannons. I did'nt care about taking his main...I just wanted to wear him out and teach him a lesson in expanding [A lesson I have had tought to me in my day].
This time I came in through the left side of his base with my ghost :P . As I targeted the Nexus once again....I saw that he had rebult his probes (A lot of them this time for such a samll mineral patch). Well....The red dot goes on his Nexus again and I see the probes being put into a shuttle. The Stuttle stayed there (I as crossing my fingers it would'nt move). He figured by putting them in the shuttle...they were out of harms way. The nuke drops...and the shuttle explodes with all his little probes going with it (Plus the Nexus exploded this time...and a 2 gateways with it). I really laughed after that one! Well....I scouted again with my Wraiths to find one of his expansions *Finally* coming in. No way in hell are you gonna get away with such a late game expansion when I have all this at my disposal! It was an middle island expansion *Only mineral*
I had two nukes again. I used a SV to look around his so-called offensive choke on me and saw a reaver with 2 goons. I nuked it. I think it took him awhile to find the dot...because he only started moving his reaver mid way through the nuke. But alas...the reaver was too fat and slow to out run the nuke and he along everything there blew up (Except for two heavly damaged plyons...but rines finished those). He was then warping in cannons at his island like mad. I launched a nuke from the mainland, and boom....no more defence. I then sent in Wraiths to kill the plyon when that was check and mate. He said "GG". Awwww...I was just gonna go down a finish his main....rats!
Lessons:
-Expand, make Observers and don't even bother with a Stargate when you have one base and very small mineral patch left in it.
-Map control rules...I love being in total control
-If you ever play a Toss that don't feel he has to make Observers....go nuke happy and teach him a lesson!
-I really think he underestimated me...and thus did'nt wanna work for his expansion. I don't underestimate anyone (Unless recon tells me otherwise...but he had no recon...and I knew he was mine right when the first Ghost popped outta that rax) Nuke success rate: 100% Muahahaha
-BTW...I also irradicated the temp that thew those nasty storms at my Wraiths...his last one!!!!! God, I love doing that to Templar (just seeing them running around in pain is sooo good...as they deserve it) |
