NOTE: Unfortunately, It was only roundabout the end of the battle that I decided to BR this game, so there's no fancy in-game pictures. However, the detail that I've described the report in will hopefully make up for that err. Enjoy! (oh and mark4, don't have a heart attack yet... I've finally fixed the pictures!)

Preface:
Most of the battlereports these days on BR.COM are all American games, with an American point of view. I don't agree with this entirely, so I invented this series just to show you how we Brits play!
Blantant Rip-off section:
Yes, I know its copied off King-Lewis' BRs, but here are a few amusing comments that have been uttered in Brood War GBR-1 recently...

Now, on... to the Battlereport proper!

Background:
This story is set during the mighty conflict that followed after the forces of the United Earth Directorate took control of the arid desert world of korhal, throne world of the Terran Dominion. Battle rages across the polluted and irradiated sands of Korhal as Zerg Broods under the command of Kerrigan in the employ of Emperor Mengsk push forward against the faltering UED posistions, determined to retake control of the capital city Augustgrad and rebuild the smashed Dominion. Mengsk himself was no fool and decided not to risk his life out on the front lines, and so retreated back to the ruined Protoss homeworld of Aiur ( escorted by a portion of Kerrigan's Zerg and the unwilling aid of the Protoss) to await results of the battle. Their retreat did not go un-noticed, however, for they were detected by the sensors on board the UED flagship 'Aleksander'. The UED leader, Gerard Du Gaulle, was determined to exact vengeance on Mengsk for obliterating his strongholds on Korhal, and so dispatched a UED taskforce (accompanied by a element of Zerg that the UED commandeered after subjugating the Overmind) to eliminate them. Their scans revealed that Mengsk's Zerg and Protoss defenders had set up camp near an imposing Protoss temple, the infamous 'Lost Temple' itself that has been the site of hundreds of battles in the Protoss' bloody history. Soon, Dropships and Overlords screamed trhough the atmosphere, determined to exact vengeance in the name of humanity...
(no apologies to those who don't like reading. Buy a book!)
The Battle:
The UED/Zerg Party touched down North-east of the Temple, and Cerebrate MY.ISP.IS.CRAP and the incompetent general Robertguy were quick to start their mining operations. In the Meantime, Kerrigan's (after all, she had some uses for Mengsk) Cerebrate Verlust{SoL}nd her reluctant Protoss allies (under the command of Executor Neo{SoL})scrambled to build defenses in the South-west. After SCVs and Drones were busily harvesting minerals, MY.ISP.IS.CRAP despatched an Overlord to scout out the enemy posistions, and soon discovered that he had built defenses faster than expected as it was forced to flee the withering foce from a spore colony. Meanwhile, Robertguy started to construct a Barracks where Soldiers descending from the battlecruisers in orbit could be housed, and started to barricade the ramp leading down into the plain of the Lost Temple. Nothing happened for quite a while as all the generals began to build up their forces for the bloodbath ahead. MY.ISP.IS.CRAP began to spawn mutalisks and Robertguy reinforced his barricade with barrack's full of Marines and a line of Missile Turrets defending his southern cliff overlooking the plain. Little did they know that this apparently rudimentary tactic would be decisive in the coming battle...
Without warning, blue fire crackled into life over the Hive cluster of MY.ISP.IS.CRAP and a Mutalisk exploded as its reeking body was purged by the weapons of Protoss Corsairs.
The other Mutalisks scrambled and flew in to engage the fighters. At the same time a swarm of Cerebrate Verlust{SoL}'s Zerglings stormed up the ramp leading to the Hive Cluster, but this bottleneck was deadly as a recently-constructed Sunken Colony wreaked havoc against Verlust's Zerglings, whose way was blocked by a mere six Zerglings of ISP's. The air battle did not fare so well, however, because although they held superiority in numbers, the Mutalisks' weapons were inferior to that of the fast-firing Corsairs, and backed up by a few more Mutalisks from Verlust, reduced ISP's Mutalisk's to their component atoms for relatively light losses on their side. At the same time the Zergling's blocking the ramp were washed away by Verlust's sheer weight of numbers, and the Suinken Colony fell within seconds. Defenceless, the Hive Cluster was slowly torn apart. Robertguy sent repeated messages to ISP to escape with a drone and construct a new Hive Cluster in his base, but it was too late, for all the escape routes were blocked by the Vengeful Protoss/Zerg alliance, and ISP's Cluster was quickly cleansed of the Zerg filth.
Robertguy bit his lip and began to sweat for his task now had suddenly become much, much harder. But despite the loss of ISP, he dug in and continued to entrench himself, determined to fight til the last.
He didn't have to wait long for soon small groups of Zerglings began to assail his defenses. However, his bunker defence was effective and the Zergings were quickly torn apart in deadly crossfires. Verlust's Mutalisks were also repelled, suffering considerable losses, by the tough Turret defense. Then the Corsairs skulked into view...
Without warning, blue stroms of energy engulfed Robertguy's posistions and a small group of Dark Templar made their way up the ramp. The Disruption webs did their job, and the DT snuck in unassailed, vanishng as suddenly as they appeared as they stole out of range of the Missile Turrets.
Instantly an SCV exploded. Then another. And another. the DTs set, to work, disrupting Robertguy's vital resouce operation as they tore open SCV power packs and their pilots died horrible, firey deaths. Robertguy scanned with his Comsat frantically as the DTs began to hack away at his tructures, and with the abscence of proper troops, made a foolish mistake... he brought his remaining SCVs off their production lines and into combat. The Dts fled, and as the Scan wore off, struck again, destroying all of the SCVs with only scratches to call their own wounds. Eventually A Wraith managed to force the Dts to retreat with a new scan. Neo wasn't wprried, for their job had been done, and that was all that mattered.
Immediately he led a small strike force of Dragoons and Zealots into the base, but the D-web's energies had petered out and they were forced to fall back as their lead dragoon was blown apart. But the D-webs fell again, and eight Zealots maged to get through. Now with his base blown open and defenceless, Rbertguy could only watch in dismay as his base was torn apart by Psionic blades. Nothing could get much worse...
Then they did.
His defenses were brought down, bunker by bunker, turret by turret, as Guardians of Verlust struck from a safe distance. As the Bunkers collapsed, Roberguy brought the marines into desperate comabat to stop the Zealot tide. All of his SCvs were gone and his CC reduced to molten slag, but he'd take as many of them with him as possible! they were unsuccessful however, as skilful micro from Neo killed all the marines and only one Zealot was wounded (reduced to four health!). As his last bunker blew apart, Robertguy screamed "That Zeal is going to DIE!"
the Four marines rushed across the smaoking ruins of their base, rifles levelled at the mortally wounded Zealot. However, an uninjured Zealot leapt in front of the bullets (re: Robertguy clicked on the wrong zealot!) and the bullets harmlessly disintegratd on his shields. Three of the marines scattered as their leader was disembowelled by a vengeful blade in his guts. They regrouped and fired again (at the right zealot this time!), smashing down its shields, and knocking it tow the ground. As his tow comrades were dealt with by the Zealots, one Marine levelled his rifle, snapped off a shot. It took the Zeal through the head, and it exploded in a blue psionic haze as its soul fled to Adun. The marine threw down his weapon and stood to atention as the Zealot's comrades tore him lib from limb.
It was all but over for Robertguy. His remaining structures were being razed by the Guardians, and all he could do was make a pathetic boast through the comlink to his enemies about killing the Zealot beofre scrambling onto his shuttle and flying up to his Battlecruiser in orbit, before turning and warping out of the system, shamed, broken, and with his tail between his legs. The Emperor was afe for another day....
