Hello, everybody of the BR.com community that deigns it within their pride to read this report. While I’ve been frequenting this site for quite a while now, this is my first submission. Let me give you some background information to get you situated:

I’m currently in Nanjing, China on an ancient Chinese computer (my primary language is English and my Chinese is not too good). Thus the lack of pictures/templates/everything else you’re no doubt used to seeing from a good battlereport. (Un)fortunately for me, I’ll be staying here for two months.

I used to play on US.East as MidnightGladius, but one day a friend of mine dragged me into Clan FoN-. Out of pity, I made an account FoN-Zuranh, which I use most of these days. However, when I feel like doing so something I wouldn’t want to blemish the clan record with, I sign back on as MidnightGladius. One of the things I used to (and still do) love was joining clan games and generally making them all look like idiots. Thus, this is one of those games.

 MidnightGladius VS. VoE-Tulkas:

Player Introductions:

MidnightGladius: I’ve been playing Brood War for a good three years, consider myself pretty decent, and play as Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, in that order. There’s nothing more to be said on my part except for useless rambling and pointless boasting. I’ll be referring to myself as “I”, of course.

He’s not too bad, but certainly is better off playing LotR maps (sadly, both of these clans are LotR-centric, something I’m trying to change). He’ll be referred to as “Tulkas”.

The Map: The Temple That Was Once Lost And Supposedly Has Now Been Found (need I say more?)

The Map: The Temple That Was Once Lost And Supposedly Has Now Been Found (need I say more?)And finally, after too much talk, here’s the game:

At the end of the countdown timer, I had randomed and Tulkas had chosen Terran. I, to my middling interest, warped in as the almighty Blue Protoss at the 6 o’clock start. The despicable Tulkas had landed his Teal Command Center to my west at 9 o’clock. I cloned my Probes to their respective mineral patches, while Tulkas had simply sent them to one block. Either that, or he had tried to clone but forgot to let go of the left-click. Nothing really happened in this brief time period, except that Tulkas muttered about clan members whispering him constantly. I, knowing he was Terran, followed the standard PvT build order, Pylon on 8, Gateway on 10. I scouted counter-clockwise with the Probe that had built the first Pylon, locating him straight away. Upon seeing the infamous Supply Depot/Barracks, I cursed. No early Zealot rush for me then. Back at home, I added another Pylon and a Cybernetics Core. The scouting probe I left behind the natural Minerals to watch for expansions. After another period of quiet, Tulkas said some extremely random things, and I sent my recently finished Dragoon to fire at his wallin. From the lack of return fire, it was obvious Tulkas hadn’t built those first few Marines that can do come damage to a Dragoon. I became somewhat puzzled when nothing came to stop my Dragoon: no repairer SCVs, no Siege Tank to return fire. Then I turned attention to my base and almost fell out my chair laughing. Apparently, the culmination of Tulkas’s plans was the single, uncloaked Wraith that was flying around my base, bothering to attack anything. By this time, I had two Gateways with a third almost done. More Dragoons were on their way to Tulkas’s main, and the first had destroyed the Supply Depot to move on deeper and target mining SCVs. Meanwhile, the enemy Wraith finally stopped flying and started attacking my Nexus. I didn’t bother to use anything to attack back. Needless to say, the last few minutes of the game are pointless to describe. I think his Wraith did ~300 damage to my Nexus before the game ended.

After the game, I showed the replay to the other VoE members. Two of them were considering pulling down Tulkas for his idiocy, especially when it became obvious he had over three thousand Minerals in the bank. Tulkas himself said it was because other people were messaging him, but his bot said that no one had whispered him in the last hour. While everyone else was laughing with great hilarity, Tulkas was quite livid. Before I left, he shouted to everyone that he was banning me. Alright; fine with me. Of course, this did present some problems later when we were merging, but we all got over it.

Well, everyone, sorry for this abysmal mockery of a game. I promise that they’ll get much better in the future. I personally think I’m more suited to writing stories, and I’ll be experimenting with a writing style in my future report.
