As you can see, this map is a bit like roadwar. My swarm started out at the bottom of the map and I decided to go 9 pool, overlord, zerglings, then expand to the plateau marked 1, which sat just east of me. I would also be making a few sunkens and hope for the best. When my 6 zerglings reached his base, he was already mining gas, and had a forge and cannons. The cannons were positioned poorly though, and I took down a misplaced pylon before retreating to his natural expansion site. He did not have forces, so I left my plateau expansion unguarded for a while.

Thinking that my patroling zerglings had contained him for now, I worked on another hatchery and some hydralisks. These hydralisks became my second wave against his only base at this point.

Unfortunately, as I was taking out his assimilator and a gateway, the cannon push he had started on me in secret finally paid off. My offensive force was not enough to finish his cannons and zealots, so I retreated to repel the attack on my main. My hydras overwhelmed his cannons, but he had bought himself some time to put up an expansion, and was starting to get dragoons, shield batteries, cannons and templar.

The Fight for the Center.
The bitter taste of cheese was in my mouth from his cannon push, so my swarm struck back with a semi successful drop on his expansion... killing some probes. Hydras were too mundane of a way to kill this guy anyway, so I decided to tech up and expand to the center.

Probably overconfidently, I started 2 expansions in the center and soon had a group of hydra, mutalisks and a few scourge between the two islands. My oddly named Protoss opponent chose this time to do a 2 shuttle, templar, dragoon, darktemplar drop on the expansion marked 2... the southern of the two middle sights. He wiped out my probes and stormed some hydras, but I waited until he had destroyed my hatchery too, and reloaded his shuttles. Unfortunately, my overseeing of the expansion marked 3, the northern middle site, prevented me from taking a shot of this. Hmm... two shuttles with 3 templar, 1 dark templar, and one dragoon (the other died). The swarm hit his shuttles hard with scourge and mutas before he could unload, killing everything. My mutas suicided the assimilator at his expansion site and danced a storm over his own probes before they died. We had both suffered heavy losses, but I was pulling money in at least 3 times as fast now.

Less than a minute later though, parasites revealed that he had restarted the economy at his expansion, and he quickly added cannons and more templar before I could strike there again.

The Whine and Cheese Party (with condiments)
The protoss adversary cursed me as my swarm brought down another shuttle. At this point, I might have been able to simply order my hungry army of hydras to overpower him, but the shield batteries made me think twice. Zerg swarms rarely use some of their special units, but they were of use today. His templar were kept at bay by my queens, and the rest of his army could not match mine without the cannon support and without storm. My four sites were running full tilt, and there was never a penny left in my bank.

A few minutes passed uneventfully, but my upgrades and army were growing, and I had added a mix of nearly every zerg unit...

He may have used cheese on me in the beginning, but I would use CONDIMENTS on his shiny protoss ass.

His force of templar, dragoons, carriers, corsairs and cannons that he had built up would have held out for a long time against a hydra, muta, ling combination...

...but he wasn't ready for plague, darkswarm and ultralisks, all 12 of the monsters.

My hydras quickly ripped an opening in his plagued cannon choke while under the cover of dark swarm. They tore into his base and the ultras followed... soon to be followed by my queens and air support.

Templars cast storm, only to be turned into broodlings or ripped apart on the tusks of ultralisks. Cannons and shield batteries exploded. Dragoons broke like eggs over easy. Through the crackle of the storms came plague after plague, but finally Carriers broke over the horizon from his plateau, and my first ultra died.

The defilers debated casting darkswarm to protect the ultralisks, but they decided it would be more fun to keep plagues landing on everything protoss. Devourers roared in to attack the carriers, followed by an ensnare to prevent them from running. Green, red and purple slime coated the various pockets of carriers that the protoss commander had wisely, but vainly, split up. We have plagues for everyone though, even the handfull of corsair on support.

Over half of my ultralisks are still quite alive and ripping apart the far reaches of his crumbling base. Zerglings were being consumed at a rapid rate, and more plague flew. His final two carriers were destroyed by one blast from one muta.

Lessons Learned:
Having been schooled badly several times in a row, I learn that I like to win more than I like to lose.

Zerg tech units are as underused as they are good.

I should make sure to get all my current expansions fully going before expanding again.

Finally, watch out for that cheesy cannon push... DOH!
